BIT Digital Edition débuts a new, direct and interactive trade fair experience

The digital formula allows operators to interact even more immediately with buyers and the public. More than 90 events are in the pipeline, focusing on key issues for the restart.

Bit 2021 relaunches and doubles. It becomes Bit Digital Edition and will take place in a digital version, from 9th to 11th May for travel operators and from 12th to 14th May for the travelling public. Integrated into the event website, the innovative BIT Digital Edition platform will allow you to dialogue directly with exhibitors, explore their offerings and services, take part in training webinars and find out the latest news on destinations.

There are three areas to seize all opportunities in the most effective way: Expo Plaza, much more than a digital catalogue, it is a digital meeting place where operators and the public can get a preview of what they have to offer; BIT Community, an advanced matching and networking platform for immediate direct interaction with top Italian and foreign buyers; and Bit Talks to learn about and interpret the profound changes the sector is experiencing.

A programme of over 90 events, more than 20 of which are also available in English, and the main one will be broadcast live via live-stream, divided into 5 topical areas: Experential travel will provide a preview of new trends, Hot Topics will focus on the most pressing current issues and Food & Wine tourism will present and develop the opportunities offered by food and wine tourism, while Training will explore the professional skills and tools for growth and Technology & Innovation will bring to the fore the most innovative solutions, including technological ones.

To name but a few of the titles already defined, we would highlight Will the future of local tourism promotion "still" pass through tourism portals? an event that, after twenty years of digital tourism, will take stock of the new challenges and innovative business models with which to respond. They will discuss Tourism & Destination Management, how to acquire new visitors not only on-line but also off-line using big data, or how to promote areas by enhancing identity, experience and emotionality.

The attention devoted to food and wine tourism is also significant, with numerous events, including a preview presentation of the Report on Food and Wine Tourism by Prof. Roberta Garibaldi. But there will also be talk about how to enhance the interconnection between food and wine and culture, for example by promoting UNESCO sites, and about issues related to slower and more sustainable tourism. Cross-cutting values, those of sustainability, will be unfolded in various areas of the digital event.

The talks will be enriched by design experiences, case studies and best practices that will provide tools and practical suggestions to meet challenges in the near future.
